OpenVDB Exporter
If the Manifold exporter fails because of out of memory errors, or because you are using decorations that Manifold cannot process or a complex base, try the OpenVDB exporter.
OpenVDB can handle many self-intersections and thin surfaces, but Basemancer must still be able to identify valid material bodies and cavity boundaries before export.
This has a few more options. The first is the Voxel Size. You should set this to the same or lower than your Export Resolution in order to capture as much detail as possible.
If you are getting holes in thin areas increase the Narrow-band width. It can also help OpenVDB close small holes within already connected geometry. Increasing it too much can increase memory consumption.
An included decoration must already intersect the topper directly or through another included decoration before voxelisation begins. Narrow-band width and surface inflation cannot turn a proximity gap into an eligible decoration connection.
Increase the Surface threshold to inflate the surface of your topper and thicken thin areas. Reduce it to deflate them.
The Surface adaptivity control simplifies the mesh. Unlike with the Manifold simplifier the OpenVDB simplifier will decrease peak memory consumption.
